Closing Party: 40 Years of Purple Rain

Bring out your inner Prince, because this year’s closing party is entirely dedicated to Purple Rain. Exactly 40 years ago, Prince became a worldwide phenomenon thanks to both the album and the film. The birthday party will be kick-started by Belgian talent Porcelain id, who will perform the iconic soundtrack (see Porcelain id x Purple Rain on the programme). Afterwards, you’ll get to imagine yourself on the set of Purple Rain, as De Vooruit’s Concertzaal will be transformed into the legendary First Avenue nightclub from the film by Ghent-based collective GHOST. Expect a wild ride of Minneapolis funk & eighties pop, surprise performances, and - who knows - real purple rain. Let’s go crazy!
