De Nacht van de Wansmaak

Fed up with traditional commercial blockbusters ? You do not feel like watching an arthouse movie tonight ? Your personal video collection holds no more hidden treasures ? Then come to "The Return of... A Night of Bad Taste", a programme of films dedicated to cult, pulp and triviality. "The Return...", indeed, for as early as 1990 a similar event was organized and the success still echoes through the Low Countries. Max Rockatansky resumed his quest for extremely bad films and compiled a new edition of the Night of Bad Taste, which will tour through the Netherlands and Flanders and which will premiere at the 24th Flanders International Film Festival.

The "Night of Bad Taste" is a marathon of obscure trailers, embarrassing excerpts of films and one authentic feature film which has not been seen for a long time. A film that will both assault your feeling for taste and your sense of humour.

Together with the Dutch Film Museum and the Belgian Royal Film Archive and some fanatic connoisseurs, a four hour programme was compiled. The trailers and excerpts will be shown in chapters, such as "Skeleton in the Closet", "Culture Shock", "Kung Fu Zombies", "Vampire Kids", "Deadly Weapons", horror and gore, peplum ànd, of course, Flemish and Dutch bad taste.

The Night of Bad Taste is scheduled October 8th, 10.30 pm at Decascoop. There will be breaks for a drink and some food and the end will be at about 3 a.m.
