Film Music Seminar 2007

Every year the Gent Film Festival, in collaboration with the Initiatief Audiovisuele Kunsten (IAK), organizes a film music seminar aimed at directors, composers and students, under the curatorship of lecturer Martine Huvenne. Through a number of case studies and testimonials from people in the profession, the seminar focuses on various aspects of film music. The focus this year is on how music and sound together construct the soundtrack. British composer and sound designer Annabelle Pangborn (London School of Sound) will illustrate this extensively in an analysis of Atom Egoyan’s film Exotica (1994). Mychael Danna (in-house composer of Egoyan) and Steve Munro (sound designer of Egoyan) will talk about their experience and expertise.
