World Soundtrack Awards
Since establishing the World Soundtrack Academy, Film Fest Gent has presented the World Soundtrack Awards, its prestigious blue-ribbon event celebrating the very best film music of the year. The winners are announced during the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony and Concert. At the concert, Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Maestro Dirk Brossé, music director of Film Fest Gent, performs a selection of music by the guests of honour and the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, accompanied by film clips on big screens.

Live music is a crucial part of Film Fest Gent's identity. That is why the festival organises concerts in which film music is allowed to be the protagonist. Each year there is a thematic concert revolving around the work of one composer, country or subject.

VIDEODROOM is the annual musical date between Arts centre VIERNULVIER and Film Fest Gent. It is a surprising cross-pollination between film and music that gives film classics a make-over. Featuring live music and performances, this bold initiative presents the film canon in a new, experimental light, offering a fresh perspective on the classics and in the process creating an unforgettable experience.
