A Woman's Tale

78-year-old Martha is physically succumbing to her advanced years even as her character personifies all that is modern and spirited. Refusing to accept the constraints society places upon the aged, she fights back with humour and compassion, offering her love and
wisdom to all who are willing to listen. Though her son has little time for her, she revels in the company of her friends. When one of them unexpectedly dies, however, Martha takes a sudden turn tor the worse. Determined to maintain her dignity in the face of physical and mental degeneration, she conspires with Nurse Anna to plan her own escape from life.
