‘Another Life’ is a true story. It is the colourful and moving account of Edith Thompson, a woman wrongly accused of the murder of her husband. The story begins on Edith’s 16th birthday, Christmas Day, 1909. It traces the innocent and heady days when she first fell in love with Percy Thompson, her childhood sweetheart. During the First World War, Edith becomes desillusioned as Percy reveals himself to be a coward. Their relationship worsens as she finds him becoming a tedious and irritating bore. But her whole world is changed when she meets the handsome Freddy Bywaters and she soon embarks upon an affair with him. One dark night in 1922, Percy is attacked and stabbed to death by Freddy as he walks home from the theatre with Edith. She desperately raises the alarm but it is too late, her husband is dead...
