Carl Th. Dreyer: Min Métier (Carl Th. Dreyer: My Métier)

The film operates along three intertwined aesthetic paths. Firstly, as a documentary narrative featuring actors, colleagues and film-makers who worked with Dreyer. Secondly, cuts from Dreyer’s films where many sequences illustrate, clarify and exemplify the individual narrative strands. Thirdly, the expressive form of narrative and what is really the leitmotif of the film: Dreyer’s own statements about his metier as a film-maker - his passion, aesthetics and language - are threaded together with director Torben Skjødt Jensen’s personal adaptation.
