QUICKSAND tells the story of an intriguing mother-daughter relationship and its repercussions for three generations of women.
Suze lives a slow-paced life with her Estonian husband and bubbly sixyear-old daughter on an island in the Netherlands. When her colourful and extravagant mother Helena pays a surprise visit to inform her daughter that she’s ill, Suze slowly relapses into severe compulsive behavior. Torn between her mother and her daughter, Suze is forced to make an emotional but liberating choice.

Suze and her husband now live a slow-paced life with their bubbly six-year-old daughter on a small island in the Netherlands. When Suze’s colourful, extravagant mother Helena informs Suze about the tumour in her head, Suze decides to start travel back and forth to the city to help her. Torn between her mother and her daughter, Suze is forced to make an emotional but liberating choice.
