Exotica

Director Atom Egoyan Composer Mychael Danna Cast Bruce Greenwood, Elias Koteas, Don McKellar, Mia Kirshner
103' - 1994 - Drama - Dialogue: Hebrew, English
Atom Egoyan's latest film, continues the director's exploration of "personal identity as an artificial construct". Exotica, which is said to be his most accessible feature, is centered in a strip club from which the film takes its title. The club's dancers come to personify the patrons' fantasies; and one regular, a tax auditor, is particularly drawn to a performer named Christina. Observing the evolving relationship is Eric the club's master of ceremonies. While also favouring Christina, he is compelled by the perverse energy that enfolds the dancer and her audience of one.
