A film set in present-day Tangier based on the story of two characters whose paths cross but are never to meet. One is a French writer, short on inspiration, in search of the settings and characters of the legendary international zone of Tangier. The other, a twelve-year-old boy who has travelled from southern Morocco with the sole desire to make his way across the Strait of Gibraltar to the “Promised Land”, the European Community... Though both are staying in the same town, they are clearly living in two completely different worlds. By tracing their footsteps, the film gradually explores the myth behind the town...
