A cross between The Swordsman and Once Upon A Time In China series, Fong Sai-Yuk is martial arts with a smile and just a hint of gender bending. It's made by super-star Jet Li's production company, but although he plays the title role, Josephine Siu as his kung fu-packing mama steals the show. It's she who steps into fray when junior seems to be letting the side down, cutting such a clash that her female adversary takes an instant shine to her. The original fight scenes are traditionally stunning and choreographed with great pace. High point is a huge fight between two groups on the heads and shoulders of their supporters.
