If there is such a thing as modern surrealism, not making use of the language of dreams, by now pretty conventional, to teach us fear (of ourselves), this film could be an example. Pushing the pattern of eat-or-be-eaten to extremes with dance-like exactness, it makes us realise that this pattern is a scale for human relations, rather than a law of nature.
