"Best! Holiday! Ever!" After a miserably long school year and in post-exam ecstasy, three 16-year-old besties arrive in Crete. Packed with flashy outfits and fragrant sunscreen, the friends head to an overcrowded resort town in search of experiences to satisfy their hunger for what should represent (a carefree version of) adulthood. Hostility lurks in the opposite hotel room, however, when one of the guests recklessly oversteps Tara's (Mia McKenna-Bruce) boundaries. Debuting filmmaker and established cinematographer Molly Manning Walker drew on memories of her holidays from her youth to bring us this punishing but (sadly, often) painfully recognisable story with which she won the young talent award at Cannes. It seems that we can never learn enough about sex and, more importantly, our responsibilities towards each other.
