Fantasy, Short
With André Cauvin and Henri Storck, Charles Dekeukeleire pioneered documentary filmmaking in Belgium. But the latter was also an experimentalist, occupying a prominent place in European avant-garde of the twenties. In 1928, he filmed and episode from a well-known medieval Flemish ballad called "Halewijn," filming the flight of the young princess through the woods as a poetic journey.
