In Inexorable, Film Fest Gent's jury-president of 2020, Fabrice du Welz, follows a writer with a writersblock who retreats to a mysterieus house.
Desperately seeking inspiration for the follow-up novel to his bestseller Inexorable, Marcel Bellmer moves in his wife's old family mansion with his family. As they accustom to their new life, a silhouette lurks around the house, a young girl named Gloria. She seems fascinated by Marcel’s literary work and determined to take root in the family. With her insidious presence, mysteries of the past unfold.
After the resounding success of his first novel Inexorable, Marcel Bellmer never really managed to deal with success. Years later and after a devastating depression, together with his wife and editor Jeanne Drahi, his daughter Lucie and their dog Ulysse, he moves into the posh property of his recently deceased father-in-law. That’s when Gloria is hired as a cleaner. Young and fragile, she shakes Marcel to his core. As she moves into the property, Marcel feels more alive. However, as Gloria gradually gets close to him, Marcel feels a terrible secret resurfacing that if it were found out could make him lose everything.
