Jonas reaches the town of Kenoma, Brasil. He feels immediately attracted to Tari and decides to hang around for some more days. Craftsman Lineu only has one aim in life : convert an old mill into a perpetuum mobile, a machine that generates energy without using any fuel. In his Quichotesque quest, Lineu is not just fighting the laws of physics but also landowner Geronimo. Geronimo is equally obsessed by a great aim to develop the backward town into an affluent community. He is afraid of Lineu’s experiments and does everything he can to stop them. Jonas joins Lineu, more fascinated by his perseverance than by his activities. While their friendship grows, so do the difficulties that Jonas experiences as he tries to win the heart of Tari.
