Kvinnorna på taket (The Women on the Roof)

The idea of this film goes back as far as ten years. At that time, Carl-Gustaf Nykvist lived in the old quarters of Stockholm. Next to his apartment, there was a photostudio. He happened to find out the history of this studio, which was, at the beginning of this century, occupied by two women, Anna and Fina, one of which had been a photographer. The rest of the film's story is purely fictional.
Summer 1914. Linnea, a country girl, arrives in Stockholm to work in a shop. She has a room in the attic of the shop, next to an old photostudio. One day, Anna arrives. She is an eccentric young woman and a photographer. She is about to change Linnea's life completely... (pressbook)
