A portrait of the great Russian poet Anna Akhmatova. The encounter with this woman leads to cameos of other Russlan ilterati and poets including Pastemak, Maïakowskl and Sostchenko. Achmato­va's diaries provide a written record on Russian intellectualism and culture. The extent of her influence on the Russian literary and art scenes; how respected and popular she was as a poet and person was reflected at her funeral which was attended by almost the entire Russian intelligentsia.
