He has been called the fifth Beatle, and even that is not enough of an honour. Brian Epstein was the Beatles' equally brilliant and tragic manager. In a visionary way, he promoted the group, a task that in the 1960s was at least as important as making the music. Nothing was left to chance. But behind the mask of a successful manager who had everything under control, there was a lonely man struggling with inner demons. Partly, though not solely, this was due to his homosexuality, which he was not allowed to be open about in the UK at the time. Midas Man is a biopic that does not shy away from controversy. The film paints a raw and honest portrait of Epstein's rise to fame, which ended with his untimely death in 1967.
