Kresten recently got married. His carefree life in Copenhagen is shattered in one blow when he receives a phone call from the Island of Lolland, informing him that his father has died. Kresten has always denied having a family - now he will have to explain to a few people that he does indeed have one after all. The first problem that faces him on Lolland is his mentally handicapped brother, Rud. It's been quite a few years since Kresten saw his father's dilapidated farm; since then, Rud has literally - gone to the dogs. Kresten has always felt deeply embarrassed about his humble background. It gradually dawns on him, however, that he will have to stick around on the farm for a while and so he starts telling a pack of lies to his wife.
