The 12-year-old Dennis P. lives together with his mother in Copenhagen. His father died during a struck of madness: he fell down from the roof while he was dancing. Dennis' problems increase partly because his mother is totally exhausted. Dennis looks upon himself as a little ugly boy. He is hopelessly in love with Karen Elise who has a crush on his best friend Mick. Dennis' teacher is annoying him, he is not invited to a party with his class mates and above all, he is missing his father. Dennis wants control of his life. In desperation, he asks God for help and a messenger from God, bearing a striking resemblance to his late father, appears before him. To fulfill his dreams, Dennis must comply with some rules.
