Night and the City

Harry Fabian is a small-time lawyer who scours the obituaries, chases ambulances and spews out frenetic soliloquies. His dreams of making quick money are ignited when he reads that a local fighter has been involved in a brawl with a boxer called Sanchez. Phoning the victim immediately, he convinces him that a lawsuit could mean big money in a snappy out-of-court settlement. Unfortunately for Fabian, Sanchez belongs to the stable of Boom Boom Grossman, a big-time boxing promoter ready to use his own fists to protect his territory. When Fabian’s case is tossed out of court, he decides to strike back at Boom Boom by promoting a rival boxing card. It proves to be the hustle of his life.
