Norang meori (Yellow Hair)

Like ‘Girls’ Night Out’ (1999) and ‘Lies’ (1999), this South Korean drama seeks to transgress that country's conservative social codes through sex. The film focuses on two free-spirited punkettes with dyed yellow hair, Una and Sang-hee, who pick up average salary man Yeong-kyu and take him back to their suburban studio for a three-way shagfest. Later, Yeong-kyu continues his affair with a comely middle-class colleague. In his absence, Una gets an illegal abortion, and the pair grows increasingly jealous of Yeong-kyu's mistress. This film is joyously edgy, violent, and antisocial. (Jonathan Crow)
