Secretos del corazon (Secrets of the Heart)

A small town in Spain in the mid-sixties. Nine-year-old Javi learns from his brother that a crime was committed in the old country house on the edge of town - a crime of passion. His brother also tells him that the victims are still haunting the place; one can still hear their voices coming from the cellar of the house, which bas been deserted ever since. Javi convinces his friend Carlos to go with him to investigate this house; it marks Javi's first brush with the unknown. Javi and his brother, Juan, spend the Easter holidays with their aunts in a village in the mountains. Javi discovers a locked room which holds a similar fascination for him as the country house; except that this is the room where his father's dead body was found.
