Shoemaker

In a forgotten neighbourhood of the city, two lonely shoemakers run Mr. Happy Shoe Repair. Carey, fragile and deliberate, polishes shoes while Paul, practical and overbearing, looks after the books. Their insular world begins to unravel when Carey meets Anna, who awkwardly offers her friendship. Smitten, but too shy to respond, he tries to find her again by placing a personal ad in the newspaper. Worried about Carey’s non-existent social skills and lack of experience, Paul cautions him not to have expectations about a woman. But Paul’s words evaporate when Anna shows up at the shop and Carey’s all-or-nothing heart begins a tremulous journey.
