Slow

"You know what's weird? You don't remind me of anyone," says dancer Elena (Greta Grineviciute) to her lover Dovydas (Kestutis Cicenas), who is a sign language interpreter. Their love is so unique that it cannot or should not be compared to anything. In that whirlwind of emotions, the couple must learn to cope with their divergent experiences of sexuality. Whereas Elena embodies sensuality physically and wants to experience it intensely; Dovydas feels a lot, but not sexual attraction. Despite that difference, from their métier, both Elena and Dovydas deploy their bodies as pens and their movements as inks to connect with the world around them and each other. This is the key to arrive at their own intimate language together. Marija Kavtaradze's second film defies expectations and simple definitions about intimacy and does so with remarkable tenderness, subtlety and humour.
