Brooklyn 1990. A sigar store manager takes photographs in front of his store at the same hour every day for 14 years. A novelist is unable to write after his wife was killed in a random act of street violence. A black teenager changes his name and identity for everyone he meets. A man runs away from his post and tries to start over after losing the woman he loved. A woman returns after many years to announce to her ex-boyfriend that they have a daughter and that the girl is in trouble. All of these people, making their way through everyday urban landscape, seem to have little in common. But they cross paths by chance and end up changing each other's lives in indelible ways...
