The film sets out to depict a three generation extended family living in a small Turkish town through the children's eyes. The first part takes place in a primary school where the family's 11-year old daughter is a pupil. It shows her difficulties in adapting to her social environment. She faces feelings of shame and has to cope with the mercilessness of life. The season is winter. The second part takes place in spring. We see the girl with her brother, who is four years younger, on their way to the cornfield where their family is waiting for them. As they pass through the countryside, they encounter the mysteries of nature and wildlife. In the third part the brother and sister witness the complexities and darkness of the adult world…
