Theater Camp

During the summer holidays, the New York drama institute AdirondACTS provides a safe haven for expressive misfits. Unfortunately, the summer camp is sailing in financially troubled waters. The founder's son, a self-proclaimed internet entrepreneur (read: influencer) takes the helm, much to everyone's annoyance. Theatre Camp is a charming comedy that is set up as a mockumentary in which a fictitious documentary crew follows the vicissitudes of the young stage performers and their eccentric counselors. Debuting directors Molly Gordon and Nick Lieberman co-wrote the film with (Broadway) actors Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, following their 2020 short film of the same name. From a shared experience in the musical world, they affectionately mock creative communities. At Sundance, the film received a standing ovation from the crowd, while the jury celebrated the ensemble of actors.
