Mexico. A mobster is blown up on the VS side of a border town, but by a bomb planted in Mexico. Vargas, a Mexican policeman, offers to help the monstrous Quinlan with the investigation. The leader of a drug ring, Uncle Joe Grand, warns off his wife. He persists, and is shocked when Quinlan kills Grand, and leaves the body with Vargas’s drugged wife. Vargas strikes back, and discovers a vital clue in Quinlan’s cane, which he has left at the scene of the crime. A fortune-teller predicts Quinlan’s life is used up. Vargas and Menzies try to trap him with an incriminating tape, leading to a shoot-out in which Menzies and Quinlan die. As his bloated body floats in the river, Vargas hears that Sanchez has confessed his guilt… (Book of Movie Classics)
