Twist

Twist was the dance that had a whole generation up and moving their hips wildly in circles. Never before had a rhythm held white America quite so much in its sway. Just as rock 'n roll was beginning to wane, the twist quickly became an international phenomenon heralding the end of inhibition on the dance floor. A quick succession of archive footage and interviews tells the story of rising enthusiasm for the twist and how this lead from to the transition from the repressive 50s to the incomparably liberated 60s.
