118' - 1994 - Drama, Romance - Dialogue: Mandarin
The title of this film leaves no doubt that this is a lovestory. But it also deals with post-modern themes like alienation, solitude, boredom and carnal desire. Mei-mei is one of the numerous women in Taiwan who run a real estate business. She is good at her job, has power and persuasion, works long days and makes a good living. But her private life is a mess because she has little time left for love. Ah-jung is her opposite: a mobile black marketeer of women's clothing, with macho traits. After Mei-mei and Ah-jung have met in downton Taipei, they spend the night together every so often.
