After 26 TV episodes and even more books, Fox and Hare are finally ready for their first theatrical film, in which they face a Beaver with a massive ego and an even more massive dam. In her first 3D animation feature, Oink director Mascha Halberstad brings along her charms and her wacky sense of humour, infusing this adventure with goofy earnestness.
Strange things are happening in the forest where Fox and Hare live. After a crazy party, Owl has disappeared, and a ginormous lake is overflowing towards the homes of our forest friends. The culprit: the megalomaniac (and rather lonely) Beaver who, together with his two mischievous pi-rats, has built a huge dam - including an underwater paradise with loads of slides and fun activities. In their very first theatrical film, Fox and Hare learn that only friendship can withstand a narcissistic James Bond-like villain. After her charming debut film Oink, winner of the 2022 Audience Award, director Mascha Halberstad now unleashes her wacky humour upon the creations of author Sylvia Vanden Heede and illustrator Thé Tjong-Khing. Cleverly deploying the quirks of each character and mimicking a stop-motion look (the film is largely computer-animated), Halberstad brings the popular children's book to exciting life.
