A Gentle Creature by Marc Roels - Best Belgian Short Film 2009

Marc Roels has won the National Lottery Price for his short film A Gentle Creature at Ghent International Film Festival. The price was given by the Flemish Minister Joke Schauvliege at the annual celebration of the "Cinema Professionals" during the Ghent Film Festival.
A Gentle Creature is a story about a couple who destroys all the things of their little daughter. A few hours before they have signed contracts and they have spoken about txadvantages. The ultimatief procedure will take place far in the woods... 'Marc Roels has filmed a strong allegory of difficult ethical choices in a contemporay society. He is very consequent in his content and visuals and goes straight to the point. A Gentle Creature is a film which is not indifferent to us says the jury. The winning director goes home with a price of 5.000 euro. The jury of the Best Belgian Short Film : screenwriter/producer Bram Renders, journalist Jan Temmerman, journalist Nicolas Crousse, actress Els Dottermans and filmmaker Raoul Servais.
