Film Festival starts in style
12 Oct 2010
Tonight, the 37th edition of the Ghent Film Festival started with a spectacular opening evening. At the Kinepolis complex the red carpet was rolled out for the cast of Hilde Van Mieghem's film Smoorverliefd. She was the first Flemish woman director to have the honour of opening the festival. In the Vooruit Arts Centre, the festival was kicked off with the Banksy documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop. In other words, there was something for everyone from the first evening onwards. An ideal start to a twelve-day event full of captivating film, sublime concerts and, as the climax on October 23rd, the World Soundtrack Awards.
