Flagey organizes Festival of the Imaginary

On the one hand, the four seasons according to Vivaldi and Cage; on the other, images from the current Lille exhibition of Flemish art. Thu 25.10 - 20:15 - Studio 4 (Flagey) First laureate of Queen Elisabeth Competition, violin 2012 The Philharmonic's guests are the Russian violinist Andrey Baranov, first laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2012, and the Japanese conductor Yuki Kakuichi, winner of the Grand Prix in Besançon in 2011. The concert opens with the second symphony of a young Belgian composer. Sat 27.10 - 20:15 - Studio 4 (Flagey) Graphicology Brussels Jazz Orchestra A new project, linking the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and the graphic novels of jazz fan Philip Paquet. Six original compositions based on six graphic novels, combined with original videos, culminating in a story created for the occasion by Paquet and featuring the BJO itself! Flagey, Brussels Jazz Orchestra zat 27.10 - 22:00 - Studio 1 (Flagey) Het Collectief : Pierrot Lunaire & Quatuor Alfama Deel 1 : Pierrot Lunaire / Het Collectief De integratie van beeld en geluid. Daat gaat het over in deze eigentijdse flashy uitvoering van Pierrot Lunaire van Schönberg. Met projecties van 'tekstanimator' Klaas Verpoest en Jo De Baerdemaeker worden de macabere gedichten van de Belgische symbolist Albert Giraud nog meer aanschouwelijk gemaakt dan Schönbergs atonale Sprechgesang al suggereert. De opname van Pierrot Lunaire door Het Collectief en de expressieve Jacqueline Janssen is uitzonderlijk ! Ze werd door het gerenommeerde tijdschrift Diapason internationaal tot de vijf beste ooit gerekend ! Het Collectief won bovendien de prijs Musicus van het jaar 2011, uitgereikt door Klara. Deel 2 : Eine kleine Nachtmusik / Quatuor Alfama Vier Belgische musici richtten in 2005 het Quatuor Alfama op - Alfama geïnspireerd op de gelijknamige kleurrijke wijk in Lissabon. En kleurrijk is ook het repertoire van dit jonge, dynamische ensemble. Het nam de integrale strijkkwartetten op van Frédéric Devreese, alsook werk van de Cubaanse 'gitaarcomponist' Leo Brouwer. Maar ook Schubert en Mozart behoort tot hun repertoire. Die avond speelt het kwartet een van de bekendste, maar daarom niet meest gespeelde werken van Mozart :Eine kleine Nachtmusik... om rustig de nacht in te gaan. Flagey
