Three days of film music mania!

This year all the music events at the Ghent International Film Festival are concentrated in a three day span, which makes it easier for film music fans to attend these events. Film music aficionados are already looking forward to the 7th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards. Each year the elite of film music composers attends the ceremony and the subsequent concert to celebrate film music in all its aspects.

Gustavo Santaolalla & Bajofondo Tango Club
Since Gustavo Santaolalla was honoured as Discovery of the Year at the World Soundtrack Awards in 2004 his career has really taken off. His magnificent soundtracks for Brokeback Mountain and Babel have both won an Oscar and many more projects are on the way. In Ghent Gustavo and his Bajofondo Tango Club bring an intoxicating mix of tango and electronic music. Alberto Iglesias in concert
The Ghent International Film Festival is proud to announce a film music concert with Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias, long-time collaborator of director Pedro Almodóvar (Hable Con Ella, Todo Sobre Mi Madre, La Mala Educación, Volver). At the last edition of the World Soundtrack Awards Iglesias was acclaimed as Composer of the Year and he won the award for Best Original Soundtrack of the Year with the music he wrote for The Constant Gardener. In Ghent the concert with the Flemish Radio Orchestra will focus on his collaboration with Almodóvar.

7th edition World Soundtrack Awards
As the pre-eminent event for film music lovers, the 7th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards is not to be missed.
