Since its first edition in 1974, Film Fest Gent has grown into Belgium's largest film festival with more than 100,000 visitors each year and enjoys appreciation within both the cultural and business worlds. For decades, Film Fest Gent has focused the spotlight on film music, making it a unique film festival on the calendar. Since 2001, it has organised the World Soundtrack Awards, a series of prizes for the best film and television soundtrack.
Film Fest Ghent receives government support as the largest film cultural organisation in Belgium. It is thanks to the support of our partners and sponsors that the festival has grown over the years to become one of Europe’s top film festivals.
