Ghent Film Festival opening night in Vooruit features Exit Through The Gift Shop 15 Sep 2010
The opening night of the Ghent Film Festival in Vooruit Arts Centre features the film debut of Banksy, the infamous (and anonymous) British street artist. Works by his hand have been sold at auctions for incredibly high prices (some over £100,000). Stars such as Christina Aguilera are known to be enthusiastic buyers of his work. But his most well known works are out on the streets, for everyone to see: satirical street art and subversive epigrams that combine irreverent dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. That's why he takes great effort to remain anonymous to the public at large. This film is the closest we seem to have gotten to "unmasking Banksy". But would he really want to reveal his identity?

This is in the same line as his previous films, including United 93, Omagh and Bloody Sunday. They are all films that make no attempt to avoid criticism and they are always politically or socially conscious. A concert like you've never seen one before 19 Oct 2010
'Intangible States' is an audiovisual performance by post-rock electronica duo Stray Dogs and Swiss video artist Legoman (Yannick Jacquet), known for his work with the AntiVJ collective. His visuals offer more than just a nice setting, and actually interact with the music and the musicians. 'Intangible States' will be a concert like you've never seen one before. Vooruit programmer Wim Wabbes: "The scene on stage is just overwhelming (and also amazing from a technical point of view). The two Stray Dogs are seated between 100 cardboard boxes that are used as tv screens and on which Legoman project images that seem taken from a road movie... It all results in a kaleidoscopic effect" Stray Dogs ft. Legoman - Intangible States Wed 20 Oct postrock / electronica
