During our annual WSA Film Music Days you can discover our diverse film music programme, culminating with a film music concert and its annual highlight, the World Soundtrack Awards.
Year Round
Film Fest Ghent is more than a ten-day film marathon. Film and film music programming runs throughout the year.
Press & Film professionals
Film Fest Gent plays an important role for the film and film music sectors, both nationally and internationally. The industry programme is a meeting point for the Belgian and international film and film music profession. The festival also draws (international) attention to Belgian film and film music talent. Below you will find all info for professionals.
Official Competition
Every year, the Official Competition offers a unique selection of the crème de la crème of international cinema. Enjoy an intriguing mix of new talent and established authors. An international jury screens the films and awards two prizes: the Grand Prix for Best Film and the Georges Delerue Award for Best Soundtrack / Sound Design. Below you find an overview of all juries and past winners.
World Soundtrack Awards
The renowned World Soundtrack Awards are the annual awards for film and television music, selected by composers and other film music professionals from the World Soundtrack Academy. Traditionally, the award ceremony is the closing event of Film Fest Ghent. Since the mid-1980s, the film festival has had a special focus on film music, organising concerts with composers such als Elmer Bernstein, Georges Delerue, Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, and many others. In 2001, the festival created the World Soundtrack Academy and the World Soundtrack Awards to support the art of film music. Every year, the World Soundtrack Awards are presented during the ceremony and concert at the film festival.
