Since its first edition in 1974, Film Fest Gent has grown into Belgium's largest film festival with more than 100,000 visitors each year and enjoys appreciation within both the cultural and business worlds. For decades, Film Fest Gent has focused the spotlight on film music, making it a unique film festival on the calendar. Since 2001, it has organised the World Soundtrack Awards, a series of prizes for the best film and television soundtrack.

Call for film projects in search of a composer 06 May 2021
During the annual WSA Industry Days at Film Fest Ghent, from 20 to 23 October 2021, Film Fest Ghent will collaborate with MCFIFA (MUSIC & CINEMA International Film Festival of Aubagne) and FIFF Namur (Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur) to organise a Belgian version of the Third Character initiative. Directors and producers who are looking for a composer for their film project can rely on FFG, MCFIFA and FIFF Namur to find a match with a suitable film music composer.
Audience Awards
Film Fest Ghent wants to know what you think. After each screening you can show your appreciation for the film with your festival ticket. This can be done online by voting with your unique ticket number, or by tearing a box on your physical ticket and depositing it in the ballot box at the screening location.
48th Film Fest Ghent will focus on Greek cinema 21 May 2021
Film Fest Ghent introduces the campaign image for its 48th edition, taking place from 12 to 23 October. This year, the festival explores the Greek film world, with prominent figures and gems from the Greek cinema. Efthymis Filippou, renowned Greek screenwriter and frequent co-writer of Yorgos Lanthimos, is featured on the campaign image.

Film Fest Gent On Tour | Petite Maman | 22.06 25 May 2021
The cinema’s are opening their doors again. Phew! And thanks to this happy occasion Film Fest Ghent can go back On Tour. After a break of a few months, Film Fest Ghent is able to programme the avant-première of the enchanting Petite Maman in cinemas and cultural centres in Flanders.
